The Exchange on Walt Disney World Resorts
Disney's Yacht Club Resort
Resort Category:
Deluxe and Deluxe Villa
Great for:
Couples and Retirees.
Biggest Perk:
The proximity to Epcot cannot be overstated; it's such a quick walk from the resort. As if that wasn't enough, this resort has one of the best pools on property. The main pool area has a variety of pools connected together with zero entry in places and sandy play areas for that beach feel. Did I mention it's got one of the best slides on property and a lazy river? Yea, we love this one.
Biggest Drawback:
This resort is on the far end of the Yacht & Beach Club complex, which means it could be a bit of a hike to get to head over to Epcot. Still beats taking a bus though! The indoor quick service restaurant and gift shops are also not all that great in this resort.
The Exchange's Top Tip:
If you are spending your day at the pool with kiddos, definitely grab a kids meal from the outdoor quick service (Hurricane Hanna's). The meal comes with a shovel and bucket for some fun in the sand. Also, don't forget to hit up the Beaches & Cream ice cream window to cool off on those hot days!
Available Resort Dining:
Cape May Cafe (Character and Table Service Dining); The Yachtsman Steakhouse (Table Service Dining - 2 credits); Beaches & Cream Soda Shop (Table Service Dining and Snacks at the window); The Market at Ale & Compass (Quick Service Dining); Beach Club Marketplace (Quick Service Dining); Hurricane Hanna's Waterside Bar & Grill (Pool Bar and Quick Service Dining); Crew's Cup Lounge (Bar and Entree Menu but no dining plan available); Martha's Vineyard (Bar and Small Plates Menu, but no dining plan available); and Ale & Compass Lounge (Bar and Small Plates Menu, but no dining plan available).

Overall thoughts:
We love the Yacht Club resort for so many reasons; between having a boat for Epcot and Hollywood Studios, to a main pool area that truly feels like a real Florida vacation. This particular resort really is a great choice for just about anyone, but it is a bit on the quieter side if you are looking for an escape from the bustle of families and parks. The theming of this resort is not exactly exciting or engaging for young children, which is why we think this is a great option for Couples and Retirees.
