The Exchange on Walt Disney World Resorts
Disney's Port Orleans Riverside
Resort Category:
Moderate
Great for:
Families with children of any age, Conventions, and Family Reunions.
Biggest Perk:
The size of this resort makes it the ultimate selection if you are planning a trip for a large group/organization. Because of the size of this resort, there are numerous dining options and amenities including multiple pools and other recreational activities.
Biggest Drawback:
The biggest perk is also the biggest drawback! Because of the size of this resort, there are 4 bus stops around property. This is very convenient for getting from one side of the resort to another, but not very convenient when returning from a busy park day on a crowded bus that has to stop 4 times.
The Exchange's Top Tip:
If distance to the main dining and pool area is important to you, make sure to book a Preferred category room. While the Royal Guest rooms cost a premium they are not conveniently located.
Available Resort Dining:
Boatwright's Dining Hall (Table Service); Riverside Mill Food court (Quick Service Dining); River Roost (Small Plates Menu, but no dining plan availability); and Muddy Rivers (Drinks only).

Overall thoughts:
The most attractive aspect about this resort is the price as this resort provides some nice amenities for a reasonable price (often these rooms are also available for whatever promotional rate Disney is advertising). This resort is also very well located, so while there are 5 bus stops around the resort, the actual distance to 3 of the 4 major theme parks is only about 10 to 15 minutes. The Ferry ride to Disney Springs is nice as well.
