The Exchange on Walt Disney World Resorts
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort
(Cabins and Campsites)
Resort Category:
Moderate
Great for:
Families with children of any age and small Family Reunions.
Biggest Perk:
We love the cabins for small families that might want a little more space than the average hotel room. It's also very nice to be connected and to have a KITCHEN!
Biggest Drawback:
The bed setup in the cabins is not ideal. There is a Queen bed and a bunk bed in the interior bedroom and then a Queen sleeper sofa in the exterior living room. Also, most of the cabins are all back in the same loop area, which is very far from the ferry to Magic Kingdom and the Outpost area.
The Exchange's Top Tip:
Request a cabin in loop 1 if you want to be close to the outpost and Magic Kingdom ferry. Just be forewarned that there are only 2 cabins in that loop, so the odds are against you.
Available Resort Dining:
Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue (Dinner Show - 2 Table Service Credits); Trail's End Restaurant (Table Service Dining); P & J's Southern Takeout (Quick Service); The Chuck Wagon (Quick Service Dining); Meadow Snack Bar (Quick Service Dining); and Crockett's Tavern (Bar Drinks and Small Plate Menu).

Overall thoughts:
We love this resort for families that want to travel in their own RV or if you are looking for a truly unique Disney resort experience. The cabins provide a little extra space for families along with a full kitchen. We strongly recommend requesting your camper or cabin loop ahead of time in hopes that you can cut down some of the walk between the cabins and the main resort area, but it is a nice walk just the same.
Don't miss the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue for one of the most fun dinner show's on property!
